About Me
I’m just a mechanical engineer (a B.E), nothing more. I’m neither an MBA, nor a CA, nor I have any finance degree.
But I’ve learnt about finance in about last 20 years, are things that are not taught in books.
What I can do best is think, write, and develop.
Though, I cannot code. Frankly, I do not need it, because I have someone with me who can build applications, he is a pro (my brother).
I’m an Engineering graduate of 2001 Batch. For the first 16+ Years, I worked in the role of a Project Manager for a few Indian corporates and MNC’s. Between 2007 and 2017, my job (projects) were in the Integrated Steel Plants of India and abroad.
I realized early (while I was a student) that I’ve a liking for writing and finance. In 2008, I started my blog getmoneyrich.com (now OurWealthInsights.com) where I unknowingly integrated both my likings.
Eventually, in 2017 I left my job and converted my passion for blogging as my full-time work. In 2022, me and my brother (who is a coder) launched our web application called the Stock Engine.
The ultimate goal of my life is to attain financial independence. One of the milestones of my life was to leave my 9-5 job (which I did in 2017). But I’ve still not attained financial freedom. My way of reaching there is through investing, accumulating assets, and creating a sufficiently big investment portfolio. At 45+, I still have a long way to go to reach my goal. Though I must admit that its a long, tiring, but the most pleasant journey for me. Its like living a dream (for me).

My Journey

Financial Independence Status (Complete: 44.3%)
I have devised a simple algorithm to track the current status (Progress) of my goal of financial independence. I’ve identified seven (7) major milestones that I need to achieve to attain financial freedom. To each of these milestones there is a weight based on which I calculate the weighted average of the overall progress. You can check the below list of activities which I call as my “Financial Independence Masterplan.” I’ve tried to keep it simple because my goal itself is too complex to achieve. Hence, to reach there it my conscious decision to remove the “common” ifs and buts from my plan. You can also check activity flow, it will give you an idea of my mental mapping I’ve kept for the achievement of my goal.

A Feedback From A Reader & A User of My “Stock Engine”
“Look, most financial blogs out there either talk down to you like you’re in a kindergarten, or throw so much jargon at you that you need a finance degree just to understand the first paragraph. GetMoneyRich.com (now OurWealthInsights.com) strikes a decent balance. It’s not perfect, it’s got a bit of a ‘blog-next-door’ vibe, and the design isn’t exactly Silicon Valley standard, but the content is real, practical, and written by someone who’s clearly lived hustuled in his personal finance journey.
Mani, the guy behind the blog, isn’t trying to sell you dreams of overnight riches. He talks about Indian stocks, mutual funds, real estate, and even stuff normal stuffs like savings, loans, credit scores in a way that’s actually usable.
The ‘Stock Engine’ tool? It is not revolutionary, but it’s helpful if you want a framework for analyzing companies without getting buried under the numbers and jargons.
Bottom line, if you care about your money, and want no-nonsense guidance without corporate big-talks, this blog’s worth your time. You won’t get fireworks, but you’ll get value. And that’s what matters to us, right?”
